Anime Expo 2006
Production I.G

by Christopher Macdonald,
Representative: Maki Terashima-Furuta

Maki Terashima-Furuta of I.G USA stated that Production I.G is considering co-producing a para para dance anime.

Furuta showed a number of trailers from Production I.G productions, including Chevalier D'Eon, Seiri no Moribito and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society and Tachiguishi Retsuden. The panel attendees clamored for the Tachiguishi Retsuden trailer to be shown a second time.

Mamoru Oshii's Tachiguishi Retsuden, which is officially called "The Amazing Lives of the Fast Food Grifters" in English. Furuta jokingly
mentioned that Cartoon Network had suggested “Dine and Dash” instead, as a shorter name, although this is not the official title. Tachiguishi Retsuden is filmed entirely in “superlivemation” a digital puppetry technique created by manipulating photographs of the actors. "Acting" is done by friends and acquaintances of Mamoru Oshii as opposed to professional actors. The actors include Kenji Kawai, Toshio Suzuki and Shōji Kawamori among others.

Furuta announced that Production I.G is involved in producing a Mylène Farmer music video. Mylene Farmer is a popular French singer, whose hit song Desenchantee (Disenchanted) and album Anamorphose were included the Guiness book of world records for top selling single of all time and most exported album of all time.

Lance Henriksen was also present at the panel to discuss his first voice acting role, Andre in IGPX.
