Delayed 5th Milky Holmes TD Episode to Be Streamed in Japan

posted on by Egan Loo

The official website for the Tantei Kageki Milky Holmes TD television anime announced on Monday that the fifth episode, "Carol no Minoshirokin" (Carol's Ransom), will stream on three venues on their usual schedules. In addition, there are no plans to alter the story content of the anime for its eventual Blu-ray Disc and DVD release.

The fifth episode will begin streaming on Niconico Live on Wednesday at 11:00 p.m., on Niconico Channel on Wednesday at 11:30 p.m., and on the Bandai Channel on Thursday at 12:00 p.m. If the situation changes, the website will announce any updates.

The episode had been delayed from its planned broadcast on Saturday, January 31. The website explained that the delay was "due to circumstances." The first episode of the anime reran instead on Saturday.

The third Assassination Classroom episode was similarly delayed due to "various circumstances." It eventually aired on Friday night (effectively early Saturday morning).

The band Ling Tosite Sigure replaced the lines "Chi darake no jiyū ga" (Freedom covered in blood) and "Moroha no knife ni irodorareta" (Colored by a double-edged knife) in their Psycho-Pass film theme song "Who What Who What" during their television performance last month.

Two Japanese men — Kenji Gotō and Haruna Yukawa — were captured by the terrorist group ISIS, and a video of the two hostages was revealed last month. The terrorists demanded US$200 million within 72 hours in exchange for the men's release, and the deadline for the exchange was 2:50 p.m. JST (12:50 a.m. EST) on January 23. The Japanese government later received a photograph, purportedly of Gotō holding a photograph of Yukawa's body. The captors then changed their demands, asking for the release of Iraqi Female Prisoner Sajida al-Rishawi in Jordan in exchange for the release of both Gotō and Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh. A new video purportedly showed Gotō's death this past weekend.

A commercial for the 10-Oku-En Big (1-Billion-Yen Big) soccer lottery stopped airing due to the hostage crisis. The commercial, which had been airing since October, included a character similarly named Gotō and the dialogue line, "The deadline's approaching."
