Ojisan and Marshmallow Manga Creator Draws 1-Shot About AKB48 Members

This year's 11th issue of Futabasha's Manga Action magazine published a one-shot manga by Rekomaru Otoi on Tuesday featuring AKB48 idol group members Yuki Kashiwagi and Mayu Watanabe. The manga features Otoi himself interviewing Kashiwagi and Watanabe, and the idols talking about their plans to be idols even 10 years from now. In the end, Kashiwagi and Watanabe promise to give Otoi another interview if their plans succeed by 2027.
Otoi is the author of the Ojisan and Marshmallow manga. The series has garnered over 20 million views on the pixiv site. Ichijinsha published the fourth volume, Yondara Ojisan to Marshmallow, on January 25. Otoi began the ongoing spinoff series Wakabayashi-kun ga Nekasete Kurenai in Futabasha's Manga Action magazine in 2015.
The main Ojisan and Marshmallow manga inspired a television anime adaptation in January 2016. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan.
