Live-Action Anitomo Film's Still Shows Lead Actors

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

The staff of the live-action film and series adaptation of Modomu Akagawara's Anitomo (My Brother's Friend) manga revealed a still on Monday from the film showing the lead actors. Ryūsei Yokohama plays Sōta (right in picture below), and Risaki Matsukaze (left) plays Mai.

Kōdai Matsuoka will play Itsuki Kaga, Sōta's handsome but oddball cousin. Karin One will play Aki Nishino, Sōta's younger sister who is a video game otaku. (Note: Name romanizations are not official.) Tsuyoshi Furukawa will play Yukihiro.

The live-action drama will premiere on the Dramaism programming block on MBS on March 25, and on TBS on March 27, alongside the live-action series of Missions of Love. The film will premiere in early summer.

The romantic comedy manga centers on the relationship between old-fashioned and domestically minded high school girl Mai Nanase, and her brother's friend, the innocent late bloomer Sōta Nishino. Mai and her brother Yukihiro's room are adjacent to each other, with thin walls that allow them to overhear each other. The story begins when, one day, she overhears Sōta telling Yukihiro that he thinks Mai is cute.
