Trivia:

Outside of Masashi Ishihama's co-direction and storyboards, Ep. 5's production was the sole work of Takashi Kojima.

In episode 6, in order to force Kôsei to play the piano, Kawori quotes Snoopy in a "Peanuts" comic strip (author: Charles M. Schulz) published on July 08th, 1993: « It takes courage to sail in uncharted waters ». In the ending credits of this episode, legal mentions can be read, as "Peanuts" and its characters are registered trademarks.

In episode 7, once again, Kawori quotes a "Peanuts" comic strip (published on May 05th, 1984) to gives Kôsei some motivation. She precisely quotes Charlie Brown: « When you're depressed, it always helps to lean your head on your arm. Arms like to feel useful. »

In episode 11, while watching Kôsei going back home, Kawori concludes with another Charlie Brown's quote (from a "Peanuts" strip published on May 25th, 1994) : « You know, I'm not always going to be around to help you. »

In episode 12 around 13:40, an doll doing the Peko Face appears

In Episode 18, when Nagi and Kousei stand together after their performance and right before the commercial intermission, Nagi internalizes the line "I'm Christine. The girl who yearns to go onstage at the opera house." This is likely in reference to the character Christine Daaé from The Phantom of the Opera, the chorus girl who trained with the Phantom, whose dream was to be the lead in a production on stage.

In episode 21, the first part concludes by Kawori quoting Marcie in a "Peanuts" strip published on March 17th, 1978: « If you just had someone to kiss you goodbye [...], it would really help ».
