Trivia:
On character names: "Lucciola" is Italian for "firefly"; "Lavie" is French for "(the) life"; "Hamilcar Barca" (a possible alternate transliteration of BARUKA) was the Carthaginian leader during the Second Punic War (3rd century BC) - he was the father of the famous Carthaginian general Hannibal.
Almost all of the episode titles are taken from chess moves.
The character Alex Row was modeled after Leiji Matsumoto's Captain Harlock.
