Trivia:

In chapter 24 "Detective girls" (of tankōbun volume 3, not the 24th chapter serialized), the website Hotori set up is accessible in real world (http://www5.plala.or.jp/okan/seaside/6336712.html). However, interactive features like visitor counter, contact email address, bulletin boards, etc., are only cosmetic lookalikes and not actually operable.

Hotori Arashiyama and Futaba Kon, the protagonist and a major supporting character, had appeared in a much earlier one-shot manga Tantei Kitan (Detective's Ballade), first published in Comic Flapper on July 4, 2003 and later available as a collection of short stories on December 20, 2007. Their character settings (not just looks, but also Arashiyama being a detective story enthusiast and Kon being a skilled table tennis player and a rock music lover) were almost identical to their counterparts in Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru but the story had no continuation.
