Trivia:

The steam locomotive "D51 241" (meaning the first engine of block / batch 24 of type D51) illustrated in the key art was the last D51 engine in non-heritage working order in Japan. Her last scheduled run was on the Christmas Eve of 1975. While awaiting to be relocated to a museum, it was destroyed by a fire accident at Oiwake Railway Yard on April 13, 1976. Surviving parts are now in display at Abira-cho Railway Museum (formerly Oiwake Railway Yard) and Otaru-shi General Museum.

The assailant's memory showed his father was carrying a Konica C35EF, an inexpensive family camera, in contrast with professional SLR cameras + telephoto lenses (plus a Mamiya medium format camera) carried by diehard railfans. A hint showing neither the assailant nor his father was a railfan.
