SPEED RACER champion race car driver, usually does his winning in his sleek and speedy Mach-5. But can he drive a car powered by an engine so fast it takes its drivers into another dimension born of speed?

Pops Racer, Speed's Father, doesn't think anyone can. Years before Pops had that same engine, the GRX, buried after it caused the deaths of several test drivers.

But the devilish and wealthy Oriena and her gang have dug up the GRX and put it into a new race car body to enter the Oriental Grand Prix. Oriena has also invented a formula that speeds up the driver's reflexes to survive the GRX's fantastic speeds - at least long enough to insure that her car will win.

4. RACE AGAINST TIME

Competing in the Sahara Race in Egypt, SPEED RACER comes upon Dr. Digger O. Bone, who is being attacked by a death-dealing airplane. Before the doctor dies, he asks Speed to find his daughter Calcia who, along with his assistant Splint Femur, has disappeared while searching for Cleopatra's tomb.

When Speed and his girlfriend Trixie locate the treasure-rich tomb, Calcia has been hit on the head by a falling stone and now believes herself to be Cleopatra. To make matters worse, the evil Splint Femur is guiding her every move. Before Speed can bring Calcia back to her senses, Femur forces him to face angry lions, a giant swordsman and a race against time in order to save Trixie from a fiery death.
