Senior vice-president uses avatar of 1966 anime

Phil Schiller, the senior vice-president of Apple's worldwide product marketing, tweets with an avatar of Marine Boy, the 1966 anime about a young hero's adventures underwater.

In the series, Marine chews Oxygum to breathe underwater while fending off threats and villains with the help of a dolphin and a mermaid (Whitey and Neptuna in Japan, Splasher and Neptina in the United States). The original anime run was cancelled after 13 episodes, but the series was revived in 1969 as Under Sea Boy Marine. Marine Boy was first shown in the United States in the 1960s, and was repeated into the 1970s. Marine Boy was also one of the first anime to be screened in the United Kingdom.
