Merchandise of feline mascot in Street Fighter outfits to launch in Fall 2012

The videogame company CAPCOM confirmed in a Friday press release that it is producing a new crossover venture with design and licensing company Sanrio.

Together, the two companies will market Sanrio's leading mascot character Hello Kitty dressed in iconic Street Fighter outfits. A slide featuring Hello Kitty donning a blue cheongsam (traditional Chinese dress) made popular by Street Fighter character Chun-Li was part of CAPCOM's presentation during its panel at Comic-Con International on Thursday.

Although no specific piece of merchandise were disclosed in the press release, the Street Fighter-themed merchandise will launch in fall of 2012.

In the past, Sanrio has collaborated with American rock band Kiss, visual-kei band X Japan, and virtual diva Hatsune Miku in selling cross promotion merchandise.
