LovePlus Artist Mino Illustrates Anne of Green Gables Novel

Tarō Mino also draws Mōryō no Hako, Boku no Measuring Spoon covers for game tie-in

Tarō Mino, the original character designer for the LovePlus dating simulator series and some of the later Tokimeki Memorial dating simulators, is illustrating three Kodansha novels: Anne of Green Gables, Mōryō no Hako, and Boku no Measuring Spoon. The three novels will go on sale on February 6. The novels, with Mino's covers, will also appear in the New LovePlus game as books that the player can read with one of the game's three virtual girlfriends.

Natsuhiko Kyōgoku's Mōryō no Hako supernatural mystery novel received a television anime adaptation from Studio Madhouse in 2008. The novel also received a five-volume manga adaptation by Aki Shimizu. Lucy Maud Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables novel also received a 1979 television anime adaptation.

Additionally, the Japanese video game news website 4Gamer posted a seven-minute video on Tuesday featuring gameplay from the game's title screen through the player's first date with the character Nene.

New Love Plus, the latest game in Konami's virtual girlfriend franchise for the Nintendo 3DS portable platform, will ship on February 14 in various editions, including a Complete Set that will weigh 11-13 pounds and cost 33,850 yen (about US$443). The game was originally slated for release on December 8, but it was delayed, citing final adjustments that required more time.
