Luffy gets to be the Pirate King in April chess set with Nami, Sanji, Zoro, Usopp, Chopper

The Japanese company Megahobby announced on Tuesday that it is bringing back its popular Chess Piece Collection series after almost a decade. The Chess Piece Collection R relaunch will begin in late April with a set inspired by the One Piece pirate anime.

Luffy, naturally, is the King.

Nami is the Queen.

Sanji is the Bishop.

Zoro is the Knight.

Usopp is the Rook.

Last but not least, Chōpper is the Pawn.

Each of the six painted pieces measures about 90 millimeters (about 3.5 inches) tall and comes with either a Black or White base. One randomly distributed, blind-boxed figure costs 683 yen (US$9, tax included).

The first three-year run of the Chess Piece Collection series boasted about 40 different sets, including ones inspired by Mobile Suit Gundam, Kamen Rider, Dragon Ball, Godzilla, Lupin III, and Dunbine.
