Motoko Kumai, Kenyuu Horiuchi, Yuji Mitsuya Cast in Gon Anime (Updated)

The recently revealed Gon CG TV Animation will feature Motoko Kumai as the voice of Gon, and Kenyuu Horiuchi and Yūji Mitsuya as the voices of the orange dinosaur's friends. It was also announced that the series will begin airing on Japanese television on April 2, and that it is planned to run for 50 episodes.
The Korean-Japanese co-production will be directed, designed, and animated in Korea, with Director Kim Gil-Tae and Character Designer Noh Hyun-Min working with Daewon Media to adapt Masashi Tanaka's original manga. Daewon Media and Kodansha are both listed as producers for the series.
The first new installations of the manga series in ten years will also begin running in Kodansha's Afternoon manga magazine, while Gon manga with art more closely resembling the new television series will begin running in April in the Otomodachi Gold and TV Magazine children's magazines.
The original manga's namesake is an orange dinosaur that lives amongst the rest of nature, long after The Age of Dinosaurs. Tanaka deliberately created the manga without any dialogue to give the animals' interactions and the lone dinosaur's day-to-day life a sense of realism.
The manga debuted in Kodansha's Morning magazine in 1991 and was compiled into volumes starting in 1992. Paradox Press originally published the manga in North America, but DC Comics' CMX Manga later picked up the license and republished it from the beginning in a format more faithful to the original Japanese version.

Update: Gon will air on TV Tokyo at 6:00 p.m. on Mondays. The Gintama' anime currently holds this timeslot, but its staff have not announced what will happen to the series after March. [Via Hachima Kikō]
