Drops of God Manga Creator Agi Writes DEEN's New Song

posted on by Ko Ransom
Single by long-running band due out in late June

The latest single by the Japanese rock band Deen, "Kokoro Kara Kimi ga Suki ~Marriage~" ("I Love You From the Bottom of My Heart ~Marriage~") has been revealed to have lyrics written by Tadashi Agi, the writer of The Drops of God (Kami no Shizuku) manga. Shuichi Ikemori, the vocalist for the band, is reportedly a fan of Agi's wine manga, which led him to ask if Agi would like to write lyrics for one of the band's songs.

Commenting on the collaboration and the song, Ikemori stated that he was very happy to be able to work together with someone he respects greatly. Agi compared the song to a Les Amoureuses wine in that it has a "sensual scent" that arouses feelings of passion.

Deen has been active since 1993, and has performed theme songs for anime and game titles including Dragon Ball GT, Case Closed, Tales of Destiny, and Tales of Hearts. In addition to Agi's Drops of God, which is published in English by Vertical, Agi as also been involved in manga titles including GetBackers and Kindaichi Case Files under other pen names.

The CD single featuring "Kokoro Kara Kimi ga Suki ~Marriage~" is scheduled to be released in Japan on June 27 for 1223 yen (about US$15.50).
