Thermae Romae Manga's Infomercial Streamed

The Japanese publisher Enterbrain began streaming a 30-second infomercial on Sunday for Mari Yamazaki's Thermae Romae manga series. The infomercial notes that the manga series has sold more than 8 million total copies. The infomercial also notes that the live-action film adaptation of the manga has grossed more than 5 billion yen (about US$63.25 million) since it opened on April 28.
Yamazaki launched the time-traveling comedy manga in 2008, and the fourth compiled volume shipped in December.
The work won the Manga Taisho (Cartoon Grand Prize) award in 2010, followed by the Short Work Prize in the 14th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prizes. It was adapted into a short television anime that aired in January on Fuji TV's late night Noitamina programming block.
Yen Press announced in April that it will release the manga in North America in hardcover format with two volumes of the series in each omnibus.
