Xseed JKS Acquires Atlus Online, Renames Itself Marvelous USA

XSEED JKS announced on Monday that it renamed itself Marvelous USA as it now oversees all of Marvelous AQL's U.S. operations. Marvelous USA also noted that it acquired the ATLUS Online Division earlier this year from Index Digital Media, Inc.
XSEED Games will continue to be the consumer games brand for PC, console and handheld games "with no change for consumers," while Marvelous Online will be the brand for mobile and online social games. Shinichi Suzuki will remain the President and CEO of Marvelous USA in Torrance, as he was for XSEED Games. Suzuki was the former president and CEO of Atlus USA before joining XSEED Games late last year.
Atlus Online has been managing the "anime MMORPG" Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine, the fantasy MMORPG Pandora Saga, the browser-based fantasy MMORTS Knights of the Sky, and the browser-based science-fiction strategy game BattleSpace.
Marvelous USA affirmed that key staff members will remain with the company: "All publishing aspects for XSEED Games titles will continue to be managed by Ken Berry, who has been with XSEED since before it was incorporated in 2004. He will manage the selection of games to be published, overseeing all localization, production, and sales and marketing activities to bring new titles to market. Marvelous Online will be overseen by Tatsuya Nishioka in his role as Senior Director of the division. Both Berry and Nishioka will report directly to Suzuki."
