Japanese Red Cross Society Start Girls und Panzer Blood Donation Campaign

Girls und Panzer is collaborating with the Japanese Red Cross Society in Ibaraki prefecture by reaching out to those in their teens and 20s. The campaign is using promotional posters of Girls und Panzer characters Miho, Saori, Hana, Yukari, and Mako as nurses, doctors, and patients. Donors who visit will receive a special Girls und Panzer souvenir card.
The poster reads, "We've taken up the activity of donating blood!," which is a reference to the series, in which the characters tout "taking up tankery."
Ibaraki is home to the town of Oarai, the setting for the Girls und Panzer television series and home of multiple official Girls und Panzer events held in the city every year—one in the spring, and one in the autumn at the annual Angler Fish Festival.
Other anime series promoted blood donation in the past including Naruto, Hyōka, Blood-C, Fate/Zero, and virtual idol Hatsune Miku.
