KanColle Fever Heats Up With Full-Page Ads in Newspapers

As unavoidable as anime advertising is in some urban parts of Japan, fans are always still a little surprised to see full-page spreads in major newspapers. The December 26 morning edition of the Asahi Shimbun, one of the five national newspapers in Japan, ran a full-color ad for Kadokawa's upcoming KanColle anime.

According to Kadokawa senior managing director Shinichiro Inoue, two different ads were made, one for Western Japan and one for Eastern Japan.
Kantai Collection -Kan Colle- will premiere on Tokyo MX on January 7.
