New Pokémon Variety Show to Premiere in Japan in October

posted on by Carlos Cadorniga

Pokémon fans, it's time to have a talk. On TV, that is.

A new Japanese variety show, Pokémon no Uchi Atsumaru? (Let's Meet Up at the Pokémon House?), is set to premiere on TV Tokyo on October 4. Reaching out to fans of all walks of life, the new program aims to deliver the latest Pokémon information, discuss its universal appeal and deliver a love of Pokémon to all of its viewers. Shows will be held in special areas known as "Pokéhouses", in which any fan of Pokémon can gather to express their joy for Pokémon and even participate in Pokébattles with fellow players.

Making appearances on the show are J-pop singer and shameless otaku Shōko Nakagawa (singer for Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann) and fellow anime musician Hyadain (singer for Nichijou, Kuroko's Basketball, Gundam Build Fighters). Japanese comedians Abareru-kun and Antony will also guest-star.

As a big fan of Pokémon, Nakagawa started hosting the Pokémon variety show back in 2006 known as Pokémon Sunday. Joining on two years after its official premiere, the show ran until 2010. She's since become a mainstay on its later incarnations, including the currently airing Pokémon Get☆TV.
