Wake Up to the Voice of Kinmoza's Karen with New App
posted on by Eric Stimson
Fans of Kinmoza! Kiniro + Mosaic will now be able to start off their day with the voice of Nao Tōyama, who plays Karen. Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures and Gamegate are collaborating on the smartphone app Kinmoza! Alarm ~Karen Edition~, which consists of a selection of voice samples from the part-English schoolgirl. Users can choose up to three as alarm calls. Additional voice clips can be heard by touching Karen on the loading screen; there are a total of 100 in all. The app costs 720 yen (or $5.86) and is compatible with Android 2.3 or above and iOS 7.1 or above.
Example voice clips include (note that these are translated from Japanese):
- Good merning!
- Let's go together!
- It's all right, I'm unarmed.
- Staying up late earns you three mon! (This is a play on the expression "getting up early earns you three mon [an old currency].")
- I love love love you!
In addition, fans can participate in a Twitter campaign. Follow the account @Gamegate_jp and tweet カレンアラームのプレゼントに応募します http://goo.gl/zIZmvm #カレンアラーム ("I'm applying for the Karen Alarm present campaign #KarenAlarm"), and you could be one of three winners of a drawing of Karen autographed by Tōyama. The campaign lasts until January 3.
Anime fans who prefer Is the order a rabbit? can always choose to wake up to Chino instead. They could also opt to wake up to a real schoolgirl (potentially).
