Songs Announced for Halko Momoi's New Cover Album

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Singer and voice actress Halko Momoi opened the floor to submissions in March for her Pink Hippo Album ~Self Cover Best~, her new album of cover songs. The title is taken because many of the tracks were created by Momoi, either in composition or lyrics, but not performed by her.

She asked fans to submit songs originally performed by men to include on the release. Momoi announced the CD's track line-up on Monday and its official release date on July 20. From the submissions, Momoi selected to two songs, "Reckless Fire" by Yasuaki Ide from the anime s-CRY-ed and "Karma" by BUMP OF CHICKEN from Tales of Abyss.

The CD's full line-up includes:

  • "Phantasista" by Shōta Aoi and Emi Nitta (from Phantasy Star Online 2 -ON STAGE-)
  • "Rolling! Rolling!" by RO-KYU-BU! (from Ro-Kyu-Bu! SS)
  • "Platinum Jet" by Donut Quintet (from Shirobako)
  • "Baisoku Ren'ai Tokei" by Afilia Saga
  • "Write Once" by Dessert (from Suicide Club live-action film)
  • "My Resolution ~Ano Tokei no Shita de~" by Summer of Love feat. Masami Okui
  • "LAST STOP" by Sakura Nogawa
  • "Rock 'n' Roll ☆ Valentine" by Super Sonico
  • "Reckless Fire" by Yasuaki Ide (from s-CRY-ed)
  • "Karma" by BUMP OF CHICKEN (from Tales of Abyss)

Halko Mamoi will perform a solo concert titled "2016 Pink Hippopo Tamashii!" to celebrate the CD's release on July 24 at Club Citta in Kanagawa.

Momoi has performed theme songs for almost 30 anime series over the course of her career, including D.C. ~Da Capo~, Genshiken, Yurumates and My Bride is a Mermaid. She most recently appeared as Koharu Yoshida in Nurse Witch Komugi R, a remake of the series that launched her career.
