Steins;Gate 0's AR Railway Campaign Lets Fans Collect Stamps to Unlock Stories

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

The Steins;Gate 0 anime is collaborating with Seibu Railway and its Seibuen Yūenchi amusement in Tokorozawa, Saitama park for an "Augmented Reality Railway" promotion. The collaboration will run from May 3 to June 18.

A Seibu Railway AR stamp rally will be available through the anime pilgrimage app Butai Meguri from May 3 to June 18. People who visit designated Seibu Railway train stations will be able to use the smartphone app to scan QR codes on special panels. After collecting an in-app stamp, fans will also receive character voices and "My AR." People who collect stamps from all four locations and show the completion screen to staff at Seibuen Yūenchi's ticket counter will be able to receive an exclusive postcard that has a written original story.

The Seibuen Yūenchi park itself will also run a separate AR stamp rally in two waves from May 3-29 and from June 2-18. The stamp rally will be similar to Seibu Railways stamp rally and also offer "My AR" and character voices. People who scan QR codes on all the special panels inside the amusement park will receive a different exclusive postcard with a QR code that will let people view an original ending. People who collect all the stamps from both waves of the park's stamp rally will receive a password to unlock a "true ending."

In addition, Seibuen Yūenchi will offer merchandise with special illustrations, an augmented reality campaign with the Gyro Tower attraction, and a voice actor talk event. Tomokazu Seki, who plays Itaru Hashida in Steins;Gate 0, and Asami Imai, who plays Kurisu Makise, will appear at the talk event on June 9.

The Steins;Gate 0 anime premiered on April 11. Crunchyroll is streaming the series with English subtitles as it airs in Japan, and Funimtion is streaming an English dub. The anime adapts the game of the same name, and all of the cast members are reprising their roles from previous games and anime.
