Here's How to Spend 3 Million Yen to Create the Ultimate Rem Ita-Room
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Re:Zero's Rem is a fan-favorite character, sometimes overshadowing the series' main heroine Emilia. She's the subject of a VR app and tons of limited edition merchandise spanning a full-size figure to ukiyo-e artwork and one man has made it his destiny to own it all.
26-year-old Twitter user @Onika_Rem0202 in Shizuoka absolutely loves Rem. He outfitted his Mazdaspeed Axela sedan (Mazda3 in the U.S.) into a Rem itasha and got his hands on one of the just 30 life-size Rem figures created by FigureX. The statue alone cost 1.48 million yen (US$12,600).

The life-size figure and car might be his crowning achievements, but it's just the tip of the iceberg that is Onika_Rem0202 love for the demon maid. His entire room is covered from ceiling to floor in Rem merchandise; wall scrolls, figure displays, pillows, and posters.

The Rem ita-room came at a high price of 3 million yen (US$26,800). It's one of the most expensive otaku rooms spotted, perhaps only second to figure collector and photographer Youtsuki, who owns his own life-size Rem and a life-size Megumi Kato, among other figures.
