Warm Your Bones with a Dip Into a Space Brothers Bath

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

When Mutta and Hibito aren't hyping up the 2020 Olympics with JAXA, they like to relax in a medicinal bath in Kōenji. The Kosugiyu public bath is located in Tokyo's Suginami ward and is known for keeping it traditional. Visitors can choose different soaking options and relax while studying the bath's murals of Mount Fuji.

For three days only, Kosugiyu will become the "Space Brother's Bath". Four of the bathing rooms will offer new soaking options inspired by Chūya Koyama's manga. The "Galaxy Spice Bath" will get bathers sweating in a traditional Chinese medicinal bath. The "Russia Plunge Bath" is a cold water bath and the "Mutta Bath" and is a milkbath includes some rubber duck friends to keep bathers company. Finally, the "Deep Ocean Water Bath" will let visitors feel like they're in NEEMO training. NEEMO (NASA's Extreme Environment Mission Operations) is a mission astronauts and engineers undertake at NASA's undersea research station Aquarius.

Kosugiyu's waiting room will have Space Brothers manga on hand to peruse and goods to purchase. The collaboration's final day on October 28 will include a manga reading session,

The Space Brothers manga launched in Kodansha's Morning magazine in 2008 and the 34th volume shipped in both standard and limited editions in Japan on Tuesday. Creator Koyama told fans last December that the series is in its "last spurt."
