Princess Jellyfish Creator Draws Art for Pirokalpin Single

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Song will be the theme of Akiko Higashimura's podcast

Manga creator Akiko Higashimura drew some spacey art for Pirokalpin's new single Jinsei Keikaku (Life Plan). The four-piece rock band released the music video for the single, their first in nearly a year, on Wednesday. The song will debut as the theme for Higashimura's advice podcast on her website in July. Higashimura also produced the music video for the track and appears in person in the music video.

The music video tells the story of a staff member at a live music club who is a listener to Higashimura's advice podcast. He falls in love with a female artist and is inspired to pursue her because of the romantic advice he hears on the podcast. However, the woman has her own perspective on matters.

Pirokalpin's earlier song "3-punkan" (Three Minutes) was the theme song to Higashimura's podcast beginning in 2018. The song will be released on music streaming services at the same time as Jinsei Keikaku's release with a new mix and vocals.

Higashimura said in her comment about the new single that meeting Pirokalpin was what inspired her to start a podcast.

Higashimura's Princess Jellyfish, Gisō Furin (Disguised Adultery), Bara to Tulip, and Tokyo Tarareba Girls have previously inspired live-action adaptations.
