Trigger Animator Sushio Gets New Art Book

Illustrator and animator Sushio will get a new art book titled Sushio the Idol released by PIE International on August 22. The book collects Sushio's artwork from fan favorite series like Kill la Kill and Gurren Lagann as well as well as drafts from his work with idol group Momoiro Clover Z.
Buyers in Japan can get additional illustration cards with purchase at Village Vanguard, Animate, and other retailers. Sushio will host an autograph session to commemorate the book's release at the Village Vanguard store in Shibuya on August 25. Fans will need an autograph ticket on the day of the event. The tickets are bundled on a first-come-first-served basis to book customers at the Village Vanguard Shibuya store. An exhibition of Trigger's works are will go on display at the Village Vanguard Shibuya store starting on August 17.

SUSHIO worked for Gainax before working at Studio Trigger. At Gainax, he served as a key animator for Gurren Lagann and Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, among other titles. At Trigger, he served as the character designer and chief animation director for Kill la Kill, and the lead animator for Kiznaiver. Most recently he served as key animator for Trigger's PROMARE anime film.
