Inio Asano, Yuki Kodama Draw Elton John Bio-Pic Rocketman

Goodnight Punpun and Kids on the Slope manga creators Inio Asano and Yuki Kodama drew their interpretations of Elton John as he's seen in the biopic Rocketman. Kodama drew Elton John at the various phases of life from boyhood to stardom.
Asano's interpretation focused on Elton John at the height of his career, in gleaming sequins and colorful feathers.
Both artists were fans of the film with Asano commenting that it depicts "A man in the world's brightest spotlight. It's impossible the measure the darkness of the shadows; it's difficult to know everything [about a person] but it's a wonderful work that gives a glimpse of the edges of a person's most beautiful moments of life."
Dexter Fletcher's film following the life of Elton John opened in theaters in the U.S. on May 31 and opened in Japan on August 23.
