Voice Actress Hitomi Harada Reveals She Had Serious Health Condition Last Year

Voice actress Hitomi Harada revealed on Twitter that she was receiving treatment for a chronic health condition last year, costing her "millions" of yen per month. She hastened to assure her followers in a followup tweet that thanks to the treatment, she is feeling better now and loves her job.
The context behind Harada's comment was an anecdote she was recounting about the NHK. Harada tweeted that she does not have a television at her house, but the NHK insisted that her house had a history of receiving television transmissions and tried to collect money from her. Harada expressed frustration at being "lied to" by the NHK. As for the reason why Harada did not own a television set, she explained that it was related to her health situation and finances last year.
In 2015, Harada went on hiatus from voice acting due to fracturing her tailbone. She returned in 2016 to voice Kagekiyo Tairano in Big Order. In 2018, her only role was as Hana natori in the regular edition of 25-Sai no Joshi Kōsei: Kodomo ni wa Oshierarenai Koto Shite Yaru yo.
Harada has performed theme songs for such anime as Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts, Hidamari Sketch × Honeycomb, Senran Kagura: Ninja Flash!, and Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid- TV anime. Some of her roles include Sasameki Koto's Tomoe Hachisuka, Senran Kagura: Ninja Flash!'s Asuka, Girl Friend BETA's Erena Mochizuki, and Maken-Ki! Battling Venus' Aki Nijō.
