Manga gears up for Fist of the North Star TV

posted on

In a press release Friday, Manga Entertainment announced the first anime release spawned from their new partnership with Ryko Distribution Partners. The title, which will be the first 36 episodes of the Fist of the North Star TV series, is considered by them to be a follow-up release to the highly popular Street Fighter II V series.

The episodes will be released on 12 volumes (each with three episodes) in subtitled and dubbed format, the latter having improved sound effects and new music by London's Reinforced Records.

To celebrate the new release, Manga is offering up tons of goodies on their web site (which will include downloadable imagery, key characters, trailers and synopsis of the series), and is also having a monthly Q & A contest, with the prizes being Manga Entertainment's new CD-ROM catalog (which will not be available in stores), and Fist of the North Star merchandise. (These include T-shirts, hats, posters, videos, games and toys.)

What's more, Manga Entertainment is offering an all-expense-paid trip for two fans to Hollywood, who will then get to star in a voice over spot to be seen in the last volume.

Further, the first 2,500 copies of the first three volumes will have an offer for a free Fist of the North Star poster and Manga CD-ROM. Volmue 1 hits shelves on March 30, and will retail for $19.95 dubbed and $24.95 for subtitled. More information can be had at www.manga.com.
