Viz announces products for 7/99 release

In their monthly list of announced titles, Viz Communications announced several new publications for release in July of 1999.

The highest seller this month promises to be the first issue of the third Pokemon 4-issue series, "Electric Pikachu Boogaloo", which is actually a double-issue (meaning 48 pages) priced at $3.50US. Also promising is a new book from Cadence Books by Carl Gustav Horn, Mason Jones, Patrick Macias and Yuji Oniki to be called Japan Edge: The Insider's Guide to Japanese Pop Subculture. In it, the four writers share their individual experiances with Japanese pop cultire as a whole. It's priced at $19.95US and will ship on June 9.

The latest Maison Ikkoku graphic novel, The Hounds of War, will hit shelves on July 9, and will be $16.95 US for 248 pages, as will a new Ranma 1/2 poster of female Ranma in a bathing suit for $9.95. Meanwhile, Neon Genesis Evangelion gets another graphic novel, to be called "The First Child", at $16.95 for 168 pages.

The two new Viz Videos for this month are from the Ranma 1/2 Outta Control series, including the dub of "Eat, Drink, Man-Who-Turns-Into-Woman" and the subtitled edition of "Headmaster from Hell".

Of course, regular monthly series Silent Möbius, Ranma 1/2, Inu Yasha, No Need for Tenchi!, Mobile Suit Gundam 0079, Maison Ikkoku, Neon Genesis Evangelion (both versions), Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Pulp, and Animerica Extra will be released that month as well.
