SakuraCon 2002 (April 26-28, 2002) has announced it is bringing back AIC Creator/Director Hiroki Hayashi as a Returning Japanese Guest of Honor!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WOW! Can you believe it?! This year Sakura Con turns
5 years old. We're so excited this year and so
thankful to you our con-goers for helping us make
each event such a unique and fun-filled weekend that
we invite you to come and join us for Sakura Con's 5
year anniversary celebration on April 26-28,
2002.
To mark this special occasion we would like to welcome
back Returning Japanese Guest of Honor and AIC (Anime
International Company)Creator/Director, Hiroki
Hayashi.
Mr. Hayashi started in the animation industry as an
animator for classic titles such as Thundercats and
Silverhawks, then later moved on to direct anime
classics including Bubblegum Crisis OAV 4, Gall Force
2, Sol Bianca 1 and 2 (which he was also the creator
of). Mr. Hayashi's real break came when he worked with
Mr. Masaki Kajishima as co-creator and director on
Tenchi Muyo! for Pioneer LDC Japan.
Mr. Hayashi also provided lead direction for a show
which he worked on before in a slightly different
incarnation, Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040. Since the
success of Tenchi Muyo!, Mr. Hayashi has continued to
create great titles such as El Hazard: the
Magnificent World, Battle Athletes and Black Heaven.
Mr. Hayashi is currently working on Mahō Yūgi
(Magical Witchland), a series entirely comprised of 3D
computer rendered animation which was previewed at
Sakura Con 2001.
We're also pleased to mention that Sakura Con 2002
will be held at the Seattle Airport Hilton Hotel &
Conference Center in Seatac Washington. The
hotel is within walking distance of SeaTac Airport and
several major bus routes.
