New Anime In America

posted on by Christopher Macdonald
3 new anime series coming to North America... "Shinzo" and "Beyblade" on ABC Family, and "G-Gundam" on Cartoon Network..

ToonZone reports that two anime TV series will be airing on the ABC Family Channel, starting in July.

Shinzo and Beyblade will broadcast on ABC Family (Formerly the Fox Family Channel), while G-Gundam joins the Toonami lineup.

Shinzo is based in the future, where all of humanity has been mutated, with the exception of one young girl. Three mutants, named Mushra, Sago and Kutal, befriend Yukomo, the last surviving human. Together, they seek "Shinzo", where the Last Hope to restore humanity is said to be located.

Although Shinzo was originally scheduled to air in 2001 on Fox Kids, Shinzo never broadcast. Shinzo is produced by Saban Entertainment, and is 30 episodes long.

Beyblade, meanwhile, is about a young boy seeking to perfect his skills in the game of the same name. Children and adults challenge each other in a high-tech duel of Top-spinning. Hasbro is releasing toys based on the series, which is licensed by Nelvana. The first TV series is 51 episodes long, and a 2nd season entitled Beyblade 2002 is currently airing on TV Tokyo.

Both shows will air on Saturdays and Sundays, starting with Beyblade at 7am, followed by Shinzo at 7:30am. Beyblade will broadcast again at 9am. Both shows premiere on July 6th.

ToonZone is also reporting that G-Gundam will premiere on Cartoon Network's Toonami lineup on July 1st at 5pm, replacing Batman Beyond.
