Book about Mamoru Oshii to be Published

Palgrave to publish Brian Ruh's "The Stray Dog of Anime: The Films of Mamoru Oshii"
In June 2004, Palgrave, an academic publisher specializing in social sciences and the humanities, will publish the first in-depth look at the works of anime director Mamoru Oshii. "The Stray Dog of Anime: The Films of Mamoru Oshii" will include a discussion of Oshii within the context of anime and cinema in general and overviews of his works, from the Urusei Yatsura movies, through Ghost in the Shell, Jin-Roh, and Blood: The Last Vampire, to his most recnt title, Avalon. The volume, written by anime scholar Brian Ruh (Indiana University) will be available in paperback for $16.95 and hardcover for $59.95.
