Gundam Wields Beam Saber with Wii Remote July 26

Japan's first-person shooter from first Gundam's One Year War era

The May 11-cover-dated issue of Famitsu (released this week) announced details on Mobile Suit Gundam MS Warfront 0079, the first Gundam first-person shooter game for the Nintendo Wii in Japan. BEC (Bandai Entertainment Company) is 80% done with the development, and Bandai Namco will distribute the game on July 26 for 7,140 yen. As the title indicates, the game's timeframe will be the One Year War of U.C. 0079 from the first Gundam series, Gundam 0080, Gundam: The 08th MS Team, and the Gundam: Blue Destiny games.

The Wii Remote will control the viewpoint, targeting (with sniper mode), and the weapon trigger. The Remote will also swing melee weapons such as the trademark beam saber in duels. The Nunchuk attachment will control motion, dash/jump actions, and weapon lock-ons. As in the animation, you can also swap weapons and pick up unattended weapons during battles. The player can also choose the mobile suits' coloring before launching into battle. Thanks, RJ Bubel.
