Japanese Comic Ranking, July 24–30

posted on by Egan Loo

Vagabond takes #1 on the comic ranking chart during the week of July 24–30 as the period drama winds down; artist Takehiko Inoue indicated in November of 2006 that he will finish the story in less than two years. High School Debut, the shōjo romance recently licensed by Viz Media for publication next year, places at #2 followed by last week's top-seller, Detective Conan. Sgt. Frog and Kotomi Aoki's latest shōjo manga round out the top five. Aoki has sold over 10 million volumes of her collected works, and Sho-Comi magazine celebrated by hosting an Aoki autograph session for 200 lucky buyers of Boku no Hatsukoi wo Kimi ni Sasagu's volume 8 on its July 26 release date in Japan's Ishikawa Prefecture.
