Image Launches Color Comic from Petit Eva Creator

On September 12, Image Comics released the first monthly issue of Compass, an all-color collaboration between C.B. Cebulski and Akihide Yanagi of Fanboy Entertainment, and Japanese artist Ryusuke Hamamoto. Hamamoto has worked as an illustrator since 2001 and is known best for creating super-deformed versions of characters from Neon Genesis Evangelion that inspired the Petit Eva manga.
C.B. Cebulski is a veteran author and translator. He was the editor-in-chief of CPM Manga, founded Fanboy Entertainment, and worked for American comics publisher Marvel as an associate editor and talent liaison, focusing on contacts with Japanese creators and artists. He recently returned to Marvel as a consulting editor and international licensing executive. Yanagi, whom Cebulski calls "Japan's leading authority on Western comics," is a translator who also worked for Fanboy and Marvel.
Compass is the story of four young witches who are chosen to inherit abilities that will allow them to control the power of the Earth. It will first be published in traditional American 32-page comic format, reading left to right. It will subsequently be translated and released in black and white in Japan.
