posted on by Egan Loo
Light-novel-based anime to premiere in Japan in April

The official Japanese website of the Kure-nai television anime series has begun streaming a promotional movie. (In the linked page's lefthand column, select the top button.) The website has also posted an audio recording of the Kure-nai stage show at last weekend's Jump Festa 2008 event in Japan. (In the linked page's lefthand column, select the bottom button.) The anime will premiere in Japan in April.

The light novelist Kentarō Katayama created the original story about a high school boy named Shinkurō Kurenai and Murasaki, the powerful Kuhōin syndicate's seven-year-old heir that Kurenai swore to protect and watch over. The anime adaptation was confirmed in August, and the novels' original illustrator Yamato Yamamoto began the manga adaptation in Shueisha's premiere issue of Jump Square magazine in November.
