Last Exile's Murao to Draw World Destruction Manga

Knights manga creator to adapt Sega RPG from Xenogears/Chrono Trigger staffers

The June issue (released on April 26) of ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Maoh magazine announced more details about the manga adaptation of World Destruction, the Sega role-playing game from some of the staffers of Xenogears and Chrono Trigger. Minoru Murao, the animation character designer of Last Exile and the creator of the Knights manga, will begin the manga adaptation this summer in the magazine. The game's story revolves around a boy who possesses the power to destroy the world. He is forced to join a party that intends to eradicate the world and start anew. The manga version will follow story subplots that are not covered by the game itself or the simultaneous anime adaptation.

The role-playing game itself is scheduled for this summer, while director Shunsuke Tada (The Prince of Tennis: The National Tournament, Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations) and Production I.G will launch an anime version in July. Kunihiko Tanaka (Xenosaga Episode I, Key the Metal Idol, Ruin Explorers manga) is drawing the game's character designs, while Keita Matsumoto (Blood+, xxxHOLiC key animation) is adapting Tanaka's designs for the anime version. Murao's five-volume Knights manga ended when Monthly Dengeki Comic Gao! magazine ceased publication in February, but Digital Manga Publishing will begin printing the English version this July.
