Radical Publishing to host signing for Magic Flute, print another Amano book

Radical Publishing will be hosting famed illustrator and designer Yoshitaka Amano at Comic-Con International on July 26 at San Diego, California. The artist will be signing copies of Yoshitaka Amano's Mateki: The Magic Flute, his upcoming graphic novel adaptation of Wolfgang Mozart's The Magic Flute opera. Amano created the original illustrations and designs for the Vampire Hunter D novels, several Final Fantasy game installments, the Angel's Egg anime, two Gatchaman sequels, and Genesis Climber Mospeada. He most recently created the award-winning anime Yasai no Yōsei - N.Y. Salad, which is set in his current home of New York City.

The ICv2 retail news website also interviewed Radical Publishing head Barry Levine about the company's new Radical Manga imprint for "manga done for the Asian market," as opposed to "Americanized manga." The imprint's first book will be a version of Imaginary Friends studio's Freedom Formula book for the Asian market. Levine says that his company is currently working on a 400-page Amano artbook called The Winds of Silence.
