Oshii Premieres Sky Crawlers at U.S.'s Skywalker Sound

Audio studio oversaw soundtrack work for this film and Ghost in the Shell 2.0

Director Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell, Patlabor, Avalon) and the cast of his upcoming romance adventure film, The Sky Crawlers, appeared at the film's American premiere at the Skywalker Sound studio in California. About 300 people, mostly those attached to the film but also some people in the general public, attended the event. Oscar-nominated Rinko Kikuchi (Babel, Genius Party) plays the story's base commander Suito Kusanagi, while Ryo Kase (Letters from Iwo Jima, Honey and Clover) plays a pilot named Yūichi Kannami. Kikuchi (far right of image) and Kase (far left) gave a talk after the showing with Oshii (center right) and Oscar-nominated Letters from Iwo Jima screenwriter Iris Yamashita (center left).

Skywalker Sound worked on the soundtrack for the film in February, and it also worked on the new remix for the Ghost in the Shell 2.0 re-release. The studio is located in Lucas Valley in northern California.
