Warner Brothers Schedules Animatrix Blu-ray Release

The Blu-ray Disc release of The Animatrix anthology based on the American Matrix movie trilogy has been scheduled for October 14. Initially, the high-definition version of The Animatrix will only be available as a part of Warner Home Video's Ultimate Matrix Collection box set, which has a suggested retail price of US$129.95. While all nine short films of The Animatrix will be presented in high definition, the other content on the disc, including commentary, making-of featurettes, and the "Scrolls to Screen: The History and Culture of Anime" documentary film, will only be offered in standard definition. The set has been previously released on DVD and HD DVD.
