Saint Seiya's Kurumada to end Ring ni Kakero 2 Manga

Final eight-installment Climax Series arc in boxing story began on Tuesday

This year's 17th issue of Shueisha's Super Jump magazine confirmed on Tuesday that Masami Kurumada has begun the final, eight-installment Climax Series arc of his long-running Ring ni Kakero 2 boxing manga. The manga has been running on and off in the magazine since 2000, but the magazine and Kurumada promised that the story is heading towards its "legendary last round." The manga recounts the rise of boxer Rindo Kenzaki, the nephew of the main lead Ryuji Takane from the original 1977-1983 Ring ni Kakero manga. Since the end of 2007, Kurumada has been hinting with increasing detail on his official homepage that he would be ending the manga.

Kurumada is best known around the world for the Saint Seiya mythological manga and its various anime adaptations, but he also drew the B'tX futuristic adventure and the Fuma no Kojirou ninja story. Viz Media has been publishing Saint Seiya in North America, while Tokyopop published the 14th volume of B'tX in January.
