ZEXCS to animate Shūsuke Amagi's light novels for television next January

The November issue (released on October 9) of Fujimi Shobo's Monthly Dragon Age magazine announced that Shūsuke Amagi's Chrome Shelled Regios light novels will spawn its fourth manga series in the next issue on November 8. Masumi Futaba's Kōkaku no Regios no 4-Koma: Feri no Uta (Chrome Shelled Regios Four-Panel: Feri's Song) will be a four-panel gag comic that focuses on the popular character Feri Rosu. The light novels will also be animated for television broadcast next January.

In the original light novels which are set in the distant future, creatures contaminated by pollution have overtaken the land and forced humanity to live in isolated mobile cities called Regios. One such city named Czerni is a self-contained school in which freshman Reifon Aruseifu has just enrolled. Reifon reluctantly joins the 17th Martial Arts Studies Unit led by the third-year student Nina Antōku and embarks on a series of adventures. Feri is a female second-year student in the unit.

The light novels' illustrator, Miyū, has been drawing first Chrome Shelled Regios manga in Fujimi Shobo's Dragon Age Pure magazine since April of 2007. Nodoka Kiyose has been working on the second manga, Chrome Shelled Regios: Missing Mail, in Monthly Dragon Age since the July 2007 issue. The artist Watari began the third manga, Chrome Shelled Regios: Secret Side, in Kadokawa Shoten's Beans Ace magazine last April.
