Live-Action Neko Rahmen Film's Trailer Streamed

Inspired by same gag manga about feline ramen shop owner that spawned anime

The official Japanese website of the live-action film based on Kenji Sonishi's Neko Rahmen four-panel comedy manga began streaming a trailer on Wednesday. (In the linked page, select the leftmost white text link in the top menu.) The manga and the live-action film recount the trials and tribulations of a ramen shop owner that happens to be a cat. Minoru Kawasaki (live action Silent Möbius, Calamari Wrestler, Everyone But Japan Sinks) is directing the Neko Rahmen Taishō (General Neko Rahmen) film, which opens in Japan on November 29.

The manga also inspired an anime television special in December 2006 and an anime television series this past June. Vuze, a company founded by some of the developers of the third-party BitTorrent client Azureus, is offering English-subtitled episodes of the television anime series in free, official downloads.
