Comedian Shinagawa's Drop Brawl Film Teaser Posted

The Japanese website for Hiroshi Shinagawa's live-action adaptation of his own Drop coming-of-age story began streaming a teaser trailer on Saturday. The film retells a loosely autobiographical story of how a boy named Hiroshi Shinanogawa was inspired by the Be-Bop-Highschool fighting manga to join a delinquent gang. The real-life Shinagawa is one half of the Shinagawa Shōji comedy duo. He originally wrote his story as a 2006 novel with illustrations by manga artist Hiroshi Takahashi (Crows, Worst). Another manga artist, Dai Suzuki, adapted the novel for Akita Shoten's Monthly Shōnen Champion magazine in 2007, and the fifth compiled volume of the manga is shipping this month. Hiroki Narimiya (NANA, Gokusen) will star in the film as the fictional Hiroshi Shinanogawa. The film will open in Japan next March.
