posted on by Egan Loo

The opening and ending theme songs for Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Second Season debuted on Oricon's weekly chart of the bestselling singles in Japan for December 2-8. Chiaki Ishikawa's "Prototype" ending theme entered the chart at #3 with 29,402 copies sold, while UVERworld's "Hakanaku mo Towa no Kanashi" opening theme ranked at #11 with 11,978 copies. Nightmare's "Naked Love" ending song for Mōryō no Hako fell in between at #5 with 22,030 copies.

"…Kimi e," the first CD single that voice actor Mamoru Miyano (Death Note, Mobile Suit Gundam 00) released after he revealed his marriage and unborn child, sold 6,995 copies to reach #18. The new single sold slightly more copies in its first week than Miyano's last single — the "Soup"/"Hakosora" CD which sold 6,381 copies to also reach #18 in August. "Tsuretette Tsuretette," the CD single that the Japanese pop music duo Dreams Come True released with a short manga by Honey and Clover creator Chika Umino, fell to #20 with 5,516 copies. It had topped the chart at #1 four weeks earlier.

Kurumi Enomoto fell to #22 after debuting at #10 the previous week with her "Bouken Suisei" ending theme for Tales of the Abyss. It sold 5,357 copies in the latest weekly survey. DJ Ozma clung to the #30 spot with his "Masurao" theme song for Tokumei Kakarichō Tadano Hitoshi: Saigo no Gekijō-ban (Special Mission Section Chief Hitoshi Tadano: The Final Film) in its debut week. This theatrical spinoff to the live-action adaptation of Kimio Yanagisawa's salaryman action manga had opened at Japanese box office during the December 6-7 weekend at #5.
