Yurumeitsu Four-Panel Manga to be Animated

18-year-old girl faces life without college in apartment full of tenants in same fix

The February issue of Takeshobo's Monthly Manga Club magazine will announce on Saturday that saxyun's four-panel Yurumeitsu manga will be animated. The story centers on Yurume, an 18-year-old rōnin — a high school graduate who has yet to be accepted into college. The slang term rōnin was coined after the historical term for samurai with no masters; Rumiko Takahashi's classic Maison Ikkoku manga had highlighted the social phenomenon of rōnin who take a year or longer to cram for the next university entrance exams. In Yurumeitsu, Yurume moves to the outskirts of Tokyo to study for the next exams. She ends up living in Maison du Wish, an apartment complex full of aimless "veteran rōnin" who have been out of school for years.

The manga began as a one-shot manga in the June 2005 of Monthly Manga Club, and it became a regular series in the December issue of that year. The first compiled volume of the manga was published last year.
