Live-Action Tokyo Zombie Film to Ship on U.S. DVD

Sakichi Sato's adaptation of Yūsaku Hanakuma's horror comedy
The North American distributor Anchor Bay will release Sakichi Sato's live-action film adaptation of Yūsaku Hanakuma's Tokyo Zombie horror comedy manga on DVD on April 1. Genre veterans Tadanobu Asano and Shō Aikawa star as two factory workers caught in the aftermath of a zombie invasion of Tokyo. Both the original manga and the film use outlandish humor to skewer the conventions of zombie stories. Sato scripted several adaptations of the Ichi the Killer manga, and Asano starred in several of them as well. Aikawa appeared in the live-action versions of the Zebraman and Kurosagi manga.
Last Gasp Publishing released the original manga in North America on September 18.
