Sony's English Sky Crawlers Trailer Streamed on ANN

The official English-language promotional video for Mamoru Oshii's newest anime feature, The Sky Crawlers, is now streaming on ANN's video player. The war romance anime film follows ageless fighter pilots who fight in a seemingly endless war. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release the film on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in North America on May 28. Both releases will feature an English dub.
With this film, Production I.G adapted Hiroshi Mori's popular novel series which launched in 2001. The anime was released in Japan last August, and ANN's review of the theatrical release is available here.
The Sky Crawlers won the Animation Film Award at the 63rd annual Mainichi Film Awards. It was nominated for, but did not win, the Animation of the Year award at the 32nd Japan Academy Prizes, the Japanese equivalent of the Academy Awards.
